Engage Atlanta was conceived by a group of Pastors in Paulding County Georgia who desired to bring unity to area churches to help impact the community. After a couple of prayer meetings involving multiple congregations the group decided to pursue a joint community service project.
In the Summer of 2008, eight churches combined their resources, talents and skills to perform over 250 projects utilizing over 3000 volunteers. The culmination of this was a joint worship service on July 27th, 2008 where over 5,000 people from the community came together.
Projects were accomplished by partnering with local non-profits, government entities (including the local school system), and community leaders. Projects were done not only for those in need, but opportunities were sought out to make an impact on our community infrastructure.
